The terms for using this website, staying at an Altai home, and using an Altai app. Questions go to hello@altaiventures.co.
1. General & website
These terms govern the use of altaiventures.co, operated by Altai Ventures LLC ("Altai"). Using the site means agreeing to these terms.
Content
The text, photos, and design on this site belong to Altai or its licensors and may not be reproduced without permission. Altai updates the site from time to time and doesn't promise the content stays unchanged.
No professional advice
Nothing on this site is legal, tax, financial, or other professional advice. Where a specific situation calls for that kind of advice, it's worth talking to a qualified professional.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Altai isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of this site.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
Changes
Altai may update these terms. The version posted here as of the effective date above is the one in effect.
2. Stays
Direct booking
Where a home offers direct booking through this website, the booking details, cancellation terms, and any deposit are shown at the time of booking. Payment is processed securely by Stripe, under Stripe's own terms.
An inquiry isn't a reservation
Sending a message through /contact/ about a home's availability doesn't create a booking, a lease, or a guarantee of availability.
House rules
Guests agree to follow the house rules provided at booking or check-in for that property; those rules are part of the agreement for that stay.
Long-term homes
Homes marked as long-term rentals are leased under a separate, individually signed lease agreement. Nothing on this website is an offer to lease.
3. Apps
Altai's apps — LandlordHours, LensWords, Bee Buddy: Spelling Bee, NeuRest, and Pocket Hold'em — are each governed by these terms together with any terms shown inside the app itself. Where the two differ, the in-app terms control for that app.
No tax, legal, medical, or financial advice
LandlordHours helps a person keep a record of the time spent on their own properties; it doesn't give tax advice, and confirming a filing position with a qualified tax professional is always worthwhile. The same holds for the other apps — none of them gives medical, legal, or financial advice.
Acceptable use
The apps are for personal, non-commercial use unless an app specifically says otherwise. Reverse-engineering, reselling, or misusing an app isn't permitted.
Bee Buddy & children
Bee Buddy: Spelling Bee is built for a child to use with a parent or guardian's permission. A parent or guardian is responsible for a child's use of the app.
